I’ve just finished watching Paradise Lost, the latest episode of Sleepy Hollow. Avert your eyes should you not welcome any intelligence of the spoilerish variety! I’m going to talk openly about the episode. Consider yourself warned.
Ichabod Crane has to be one of the most intelligent people on the face of the planet. I’d never recognize a brimstone mark on an apple, I’d just cut that part off and bite into it. Imagine how shocking that would be, not recognizing what evil awaits inside, thinking I was just ‘eating an apple’! I’m really not that hot on apples to begin with but should I ever innocently bite into an apple full of writhing worms I can promise you it’d never happen again as I’d never try to eat another apple.
The fearless foursome woke, remembered Henry defeated Moloch, and went home. WHERE IS HENRY? Katrina did ask, Ichabod did explain he had no clue, but other than a mention to emphasis a bond between Ichabod and his wife, there was hardly a mention of him tonight. Sheriff Corbin was bantered about more than Henry. I hope this means that since Henry is, obviously, the furthermost thing from their minds, his return will be nothing short of spellbindingly magnificent!
Had Abbie been given the same Bible I was as a kid she’d have known Angels, the good ones, don’t have black wings. I thought they’d broke from the “demon of the week” we normally see for a bit. We had apple worms, a few nameless leaderless demons and the Horseman of Death trapped in irons. Then Orion came swooping in with his crazy eyes and black wings …. bingo!
Katrina carelessly using her marriage as leverage over Ichabod in order to save Abraham, the Horseman of Death, was telling. She either doesn’t understand just how intelligent Ichabod is, thinks he’s a lump of gullible puddy in her hands or her feelings for Abraham are much stronger than she’s willing to admit. My guess is that she does find a way to separate Abraham from the Horseman and, once back to his old prideful arrogant self, goes out of his way to win Katrina back from Ichabod. I hope this doesn’t happen … sounds a bit boring.
On the other hand, a freed Abraham (presumably) fighting with Ich/Abbie against Henry, who simply MUST come back, might be fun for a while.
The most compelling, exciting, had me bouncing-in-my-seat moment came at the end. CAPTAIN IRVING!!! WELCOME BACK!
Begs a question or six, however. Did he die and, if so, who brought him back? If he didn’t die, was he just deep in some sort of coma while the business of getting his soul back take place? Is he still on our side or is he the new Andy? Will he be allowed to stay free or locked back up where we only see him a couple of minutes each episode?
Either way, I’m stoked Orlando Jones is still on the show! Now to figure out the whereabouts of Henry so we can get back to the business of Sleepy Hollow as we know and love it. I wasn’t so hot on the whole Orion thing tonight though, seeing our Witnesses work with the Horseman was an interesting turn! How’d you like the episode? Did you miss Henry as much as I did?
