This is a vintage poster from the US Food Administration that may have been a wartime poster. Would make sense given during the (a) war you’d want to make sure resource management was as on point as you could get it. I tend to over cook, sometimes on purpose to make sure leftovers are in the fridge and ready for a lunch or other meal on following days. My kids are bad about not telling me when they won’t be here, also, so I sometimes cook for six to eight people and serve only two.
That’s an area I really need to work on, not wasting food. Even though I eat leftovers regularly, I’m still throwing food away every single week. I need to do a pantry purge and reorganize our food storage to better my meal planning and, hopefully, cut out some of our waste! Waste not want not, no?
