I have my weekly meal plans in my planner and call that my “hard copy”. I put the week’s plans on a dry erase board on my fridge as well, a source of endless entertainment for my kids. They sometimes erase a line OR THE ENTIRE MENU and mark in their own wants (that makes me mad if I’m honest) or they’ll add suggestions to the bottom of the list.
One of the tamest I’ve found on my menu plan that I can share here is:
- Steamed Unicorn Buttholes
My kids. Aren’t they darling!
Anyway, sometimes they just rewrite things. The last line on my board here is “burgers & fries – Friday”. Someone changed “fries” to “flies” for me. Last week “sweet potatoes” had been changed to “sexy potatoes”, whatever that means. Sunday I went to open the fridge and grab the butter. As I did I noticed the added “-NO!” beside of my plan for Tuesday, steamed sweet potato, broccoli and corn. Pretty sure that was Babygirl even though no one is taking credit for it. She’ll eat that meal but she never looks forward to it!
I don’t use pencil in my planner to write my menu plans down. If I change my mind or make a mistake, I gladly draw a line through whatever I’m changing and then amend below it. I’m fairly certain should I use pencil there would come a time when a kid has erased and changed something on my “hard copy” as well as the dry erase board.
Kids! Never a dull moment.
