‘Twas a nice Christmas but I’m glad it’s over

Means, with any luck, we can get back to a normal routine. Whatever normal is now!

Hoping to get our Christmas tree down and back in the basement today. It’s pretty but is a magnet for our cat Hisser and Boo. She loves to make her toys “eat” the tree! The tree is in the spot we usually keep her toys so reclaiming that bit of floor space will be amazing!

The last couple of weeks I haven’t tried to eat gluten-free. I’ve just eaten whatever and thanks to my lack of proper planning, I felt completely rotten yesterday in a way I haven’t felt in about a year. Sometimes I wonder if it’s really necessary as my gut doesn’t feel that bad anymore. Now I see why … when you’re gluten-free (for the most part) of course you’re not going to experience that awful pain, bloating and ‘sludge in my veins’ feeling I’ve had most of my adult life.

Which brings me to the run-up to the new year!

Lately I’ve felt weighed down with the (cue dramatics) weight of the entire year on my shoulders. My office is bogged down with junk, lots of paper junk as well as catch-all junk from around the house. Even my browser’s Favorites/Bookmarks list was way too long, full of sites I’d bookmarked but never went back to. I cleaned them up last night because it took 22 seconds to scroll to the bottom of my main list of bookmarks! And by scroll I mean opening it up and immediately moving my cursor to the bottom of my screen so it’d auto-scroll to the bottom of the list. That’s insane!

I’m cleaning up, clearing out and looking towards better ‘management’ systems. I need to meal plan more concisely. I need to make a block type schedule for my days so I can, hopefully, accomplish more of what I want/need to. I need to get rid of a TON of clutter as I’m starting to feel more claustrophobic when sitting at my desk. Or in my laundry room. Lot to do and I’m actually looking forward to getting it done with a bit of excitement when thinking about my end goals!

Anyway, lot of areas for improvement but I’m going to whittle down the list to just two or three to start with and build my January planner around them. Oh, and I need to print out a big 2015 planner and get Babygirl to bind it for me! I used this planner for this year and will be using her 2015 one for this coming year. You can choose which pages to print or not print. I wish she’d done the two-page month sheets like she did in this years planner as the date blocks are bigger (can write more in them!) but I’m going to print extra brainstorming pages to go with each month incase I need more room. If you’re not a blogger but like that planner you can elect not to print the bloggy specific pages. Can’t recommend this planner enough! Helped me a TON this year.

Hope you guys had an amazing Christmas!
