The latest episode of Gotham, Harvey Dent, introduced us to Two Face himself. If you haven’t seen the show yet take this as your friendly neighborhood spoiler warning. I’m going to discuss the show in this post, after all.

if you’re far more aware of the DC Universe than I then you knew, without having to be told, that good-guy attorney Harvey Dent is also the villain known as ‘Two Face’. Luckily my oldest is well versed in all things comic and he filled me in on Mr. Dent. He said there was an incident/accident that occurs and the aftermath leaves Harvey Dent with an alter-ego, Two Face. (You can tell I listen well, no? I may have accidentally referred to “Harvey Dent” as “Clark Dent”, thereby illustrating a need for a Dent/Kent lecture from my son. Whatever.

I don’t remember what is was that turned Dent into Two Face but I think we saw a glimpse of latitude when Harvey was spinning the witness tale with Lovecraft. A villainous proclivity is strong in this one!

Speaking of … Penguin is either the luckiest bad guy on the face of Gotham or a criminal genius! The man puts two and two together and comes up with GOLD! I love how he’s getting in Fish’s head, making her wonder what’s up (even though she acts as if she doesn’t give a rip). I’m not sure how he found out that Liza is Fish’s ‘weapon’ or what he plans to do with this information but I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

I’m still not buying Selina Kyle being even half as street smart/tough/savvy at 15 as she appears to be but I will admit, it makes for good TV. For the most part. I loved seeing her and Bruce interact at Wayne Manor, getting into a food fight (good for you, Alfred, for allowing that to continue uninterrupted) and even just the ‘family’ talk. I felt for Selina, aka. “Cat”, as she told Bruce about her mother. Did Bruce get that she’s making it up? I can see these two growing up together, in a sense, having a bond of sorts.

Now for the most maddening part of the episode, the reason for my title of “Two-Faced!”. Barbara_Freaking_Keene. Whiney? Check. Needy? Double check. Two faced liar liar pants on fire? DING DING DING! Add wimp and player to the list as well. She leaves Gordon that pathetic note, telling him she can’t handle his work truth, she’s afraid of Zsasz  and that she’s gone. Then we see her in bed with the lady from MCU?? Why didn’t she just pack her bag and move to parts unknown, never to be seen or heard from again? I was counting on that!

I get it. We need to understand her and Montoya to get a deeper understanding of the completely unfair and unethical dynamic Gordon will be put into, having to work with the woman who stole his girl back. I’m so over it already. I do not like Keene. Can’t she just go away? Two-faced all the way through, that one!

Tell me it’s not just me!

Would love to hear your thoughts on the show! Comment link is at the top of then post!
